A fast-growing Chinese EV brand with a broad range of models chose to ship their vehicles to Europe in containers instead of using traditional RoRo vessels – a strategic response to limited global capacity. This decision brought new logistical challenges, especially given the way the cars were loaded. That’s where we came in. Marlog managed the entire process from port to delivery, handling over 15,000 vehicles in just four months – all without a single scratch.
Get in touch with us!Due to a shortage in RoRo availability, the client decided to ship large volumes of EVs in containers to the Port of Rotterdam. The vehicles were loaded using a new method, which required careful and experienced handling to avoid any damage during unloading.
The goal was simple: unload high volumes quickly and safely, and ensure each vehicle was ready for the customer without delay.
We arranged inland barge transport from the port to Tilburg with our trusted partner BTT. From there, we handled the entire unloading operation in our warehouse – reaching up to 60 containers processed in a single day.
Each vehicle went through a full Pre-Delivery Inspection: checking accessories, charging the battery, and preparing it for delivery. To reduce costs and keep the flow running smoothly, we temporarily stored several containers at the terminal in Tilburg. When needed, we also arranged the final leg of transport to the customer with trusted carriers.
Everything from terminal to delivery was managed by us – seamlessly and efficiently.
All vehicles were delivered on time and damage-free. The customer was fully relieved of logistical worries, relying on us to handle everything from container to customer. Our experience with complex unloading methods and smart logistical planning made the difference.
This successful operation led to a long-term partnership. We’re now also handling return shipments of vehicles from Europe back to China.
From customs to delivery, we handle it all – fast, safe, and hassle-free.
